You could do day trips to Jerash and maybe the Dead Sea from Amman but definitely for Petra I would recommend staying down there in Wadi Musa. You can go to Wadi Rum from here also or even get the bus to Aqaba (closer to Wadi Rum)and relax there and take a trip. As you have over a week changing cities is definitely the best and will save you travelling time in the long run. Madaba is also a nice town to base yourself in. Ross

I plan to travel to Jordan next year, maybe for around 10 days. Would you suggest me to stay in Amman and travel to other places by bus then go back to Amman in the evening? Or would you suggest for me to stay in other cities? I will be traveling along. Which one do you think is more convenient? Thank you.

I only put up the article in June as this website isnt that old. The temperatures are nice that time of year which makes things a lot easier to do. Just make sure to bring a jumper for the night time as can get a small bit chilly then.
