This site was the one I used also. You could always ask to climb Hiorthfjellet on the other side of the bay. I didnt see it on list of hikes though. It involved a little kayak across the fjord and is about 900mtrs high.
When I was there all the people were very friendly so I’m sure if you book now and the trip doesnt go ahead that they will give you your money back.

Ok, let’s say I book in advance, I found many activities on http://www.spitsbergentravel.com/start/adventures/activity-calendar/
But what if one activity is cancelled due to not enough people? What if two are combined? If I pay all activities in advance, do you think someone will re-calculate again and manage how many amount should give me back, or something like this?
3 day hikes? Did exist this in the summer? I didn’t found this on activity calendar. Who organizez this and how much you think it cost? Yes, 3 day hiking would be great for me :)

I had all the same questions before I left and found the whole thing a little confusing. After being there my advice would be to book the main activities before you go. The price isn’t cheaper when you are there. As Svalbard isn’t packed with tourists tours don’t go everyday and there may be a tour you want which takes 3 days but will only go again once they come back. As I hadn’t booked in advance I missed out on one activity as it clashed with a second activity and we then had a whole day just sitting in the town. 7 days should be enough to do everything but of course this depends if you only want to do day activities or 3 day hikes. 7 days is too much if you only plan on doing day activities. There is very little to do in Longyearbyen and it is very small so plan to be doing activities all the time as you will see around the town in a few hours. (And you are not allowed outside it without a permit because of polar bears). I wasn’t there in the middle of the summer but I imagine there will be ‘a lot’ of tourists. This is relative because as mentioned already, Longyearbyen is tiny.
In summary, decide what you prefer to do and then book in advance. It will save any disappointment when there. Great place though to visit and see it.

I will visit Svalbard on 21-28 June 2017. Should I book all my activitied on the mentiones websites, from now (January)? Or I can book directly from there, when I arrive there. How do I know which activities will take place and which not (because they depend of the no. of people, weather, etc)? In that period, are there many tourists there? 7 days is short / enough, to cover all important activities?

I have been to Tromso for the northern lights but the west coast near Bergen and the fjords are what I would really recommend if you can go anywhere. The fjords are unbelievably spectacular at almost any time of the year. If you can rent a car you can see them all by yourself at your own pace.

You are as well to bring some cash with you though in case the ATM is down but it shouldn’t be an issue.
